| Grandparents Night 2008 Information |

This note is to confirm grandparents day for the JV team this Saturday, Sept 13th. The JV game is at noon
(moved up from original 5 pm game), so I would like to have the grandparents arriving no later than 11:20 for their
pictures. I will greet the grandparents at the gate and direct them to Kevin Gaeke at our end of the field.
If your loved ones have their invitation from the original mailing, remind them to bring it for admission and
free food. If they do not have their invitation, I will give them one at the gate.
Please let me know how many JV grandparents or significant others you think might attend Saturday so I can get a
tentative count.
Let's hope for the same fantastic weather and game we had for the varsity g-parents day!

A big thank you to Kevin and Marie Gaeke for the grandparent photos, to Pam Hester for the great
balloons and posters, and to Libby Balsamo for those great cookies and helping me at the gate! ....
and of course, thank you to my husband, Ron, for helping with the photos too. What a beautiful day
and a great game! Congrats to Coaches Kuns and Whisenhunt, and to the team for the win.
FYI JV parents/players, I will try to have a grandparents day for the JV tentatively, on Saturday, Sept.13th
at noon. Let me know what you think, and if you agree, have your loved ones keep their invitations that
I mailed to them. They will be considered "rain date" tickets. I'll keep you posted.

Fairmont AD Brian Donoher let us know that west carrollton's jv team could not field enough for even a scrimmage
as we had suggested. It was also decided that a small intrasquad scrimmage idea wouldn't be too exciting,
especially since there are 2 girls injured and several being pulled up to varsity.
So... for many of you with jv grandparents expecting to come, you'll need to call and let them know the game
is cancelled. For those jv players being pulled up to varsity, of course your grandparents hopefully will
still come, but need to be told the new time. Have all grandparents arrive no later than 2:15 for their pictures.
Game time is still 3 pm.

For all of those not at "meet the team", and especially for those new to Fairmont soccer, I thought I should repeat
the information about our Grandparents Day slated for Saturday, August 30th.
Grandparents Day is a day we honor each player's grandparent(s), or anyone else the player would like to honor in
place of her grandparent. They will be showered with free food, flowers, pictures, and great soccer matches!
All grandparents will receive a mailed invitation for free entry to the game. This invitation will also serve as
a food voucher for free goodies at our concession stand (generic 3.00 value). And as a special treat, Libby
Balsamo graciously volunteered to make super duper cookies for each grandparent.
Pictures of grandparents with their grandchild/player will be taken before game time. Kevin Gaeke will be
our photographer. We are asking the JV players' grandparents to arrive 45 minutes before the JV's 1:00 PM game,
and for the Varsity players' grandparents to arrive 45 minutes before their game at 3:00 PM.
For those of you that have not already provided me with the names and addresses of those loved ones, please
email me this information as soon as possible. I would like to get the invitations in the mail by early next
week. (Of course, if any grandparent is missed in this process, have them come to the game, and we will greet
them at the gate with their goodies.) So, I need full names and addresses asap... thanks for all of your help,
let's hope for another beautiful weather day for the 30th!
